Liminal Expanse grew from the feeling of swimming upward toward the surface, when the sun breaks through the water and everything becomes suspended. That moment when light pours down in shifting bands and the whole body feels weightless and held.
The colours take their cue from the ocean off the Great Barrier Reef, where navy shifts to turquoise and soft gold appears in unexpected places. These underwater blues carry a sense of clarity and openness, the way the sea changes tone as you rise toward the light.
It is a painting about stillness that makes space for possibility. About the pause before emergence. About finding clarity in that suspended luminous moment.
Currently resting in my studio DM me to view.
