Set Fire to This Town

$690.00

Acrylic on canvas

53cm x 53cm

(Framed)

Growing up in Grafton was full of colour & pageantry, festivals & carnivals. And always trees. From the mango tree brushing against the wall of my bedroom to the flame trees that would blaze for a brief moment. And then the jacarandas - that would overrun the town and take over the spring.

The smell of blossoms decaying and swaying in the breeze was a constant. Every season had a colour and a texture of its own.

Before Cold Chisel made them famous we owned the Flame Trees - standing sentinel and fluorescent as the summer haze approached.
